New Windows 10 October 2020 Update and Philips SpeechExec Software

New Windows 10 October 2020 Update and Philips SpeechExec Software

The new Windows 20H2 update to Windows 10 becomes available as of October 2020 and means that users of older SpeechExec software versions (V10.6 and earlier) could encounter issues with regards to continued compatibility.

With SpeechExec Version 10.6 officially becoming end-of-life and end-of-support on 10th November 2020, now is the time to look towards suitable alternatives...

Option 1 - Upgrade to SpeechExec V11

Alongside full compatibility with all future Windows 10 updates, SpeechExec V11 allows you to use your license on multiple PCs without ever needing to revoke or reactivate licenses. SpeechExec V11 is licensed per user, not per machine, making working on different/multiple PCs easier and more cost-effective.

If you are currently using SpeechExec V10.6 or older, you might want to consider upgrading to SpeechExec V11 for continued support and Windows 10 compatibility. Click here to learn more or give us a call on 0121 456 7800 to speak with a Philips dictation specialist about your requirements.

Option 2 - Take it to the Cloud

With the demand for solutions to enable users to work effectively both remotely and in the office rising exponentially, Philips SpeechLive remains a flexible alternative to locally installed software. As Philips SpeechLive is web based, users can log in online on any PC/Mac and use the online dictation/transcription tools at their disposal.

With more and more of our customers' feature requests being pushed through development, the SpeechLive system is undergoing continual maintenance and improvements to ensure that the demands of users are met. For example, October 2020 brings with it the arrival of the new SpeechLive app (to replace the current Philips Voice Recorder app).

As well as supporting front-end Speech Recognition and offering seamless integration with the SpeechLive solution, the new SpeechLive app will allow users to attach and send multiple image files along with their dictations. Ideal for users who require images to support documentation. Think surveyors, insurance workers, estate agents etc.
